"with not a single mention of an occupation in its 10 points of recommendations"

"Dear Imad,

.. I received an e-mail from Dr Abbas. He was very angry that you refused to put the “Appeal of the Tribute Day” organized in London on the new website.

In my humble opinion, I think it is wrong to classify Iraqi academics as either with us or against us.

Moreover, you will strengthen your hand if you appear to be a bridge between all views.

Best wishes,
Athem Alsabti"

"Greetings Athem

With all due respects, an appeal on the present plight of Iraqi academics with not a single mention of an occupation in its 10 points of recommendations is not, in my humble opinion, worthy of academics. Hence, I would not post it myself.

On the other hand, I have invited all members on the List to post, under their own names, whatever they like, to their credit or discredit.

There is no bridge to those who acquiesce to occupation.

All the best
Imad Khadduri"

Dear Imad,
Thank you. I strongly support your opinion. I also think that it was one of the weaknesses of the conference in Qatar that it did not mention this plight by a single word (I personally did that on a tv-interview). The Iraqi academics are paying the price for having done for Iraq what the conference wanted us to do for Qatar. The occupation is responsible for the present plight of Iraqi academics. It must at least be condemned .. by a few words.

Best regards

Dear Iraqi Expatriate scientists , while you are sitting in safe healthy environments , debating about what should be and what shouldn't be said or written , we Iraqi academics are facing death everyday in our ways to universities and back . The accupation is certainly responsible , if not for the actual act of killing then it is responsible for letting ( deliberatly )the murderers kill and get away with their crimes . What i saying is that every effort should be done , and every idea or proposal should be considered in order to stop these muderous acts or to prevent the iraqi academics from being cought in this vicious maelstrom .
To Mr. Khadduri i would say : when hands are in cold water ... then can take your time ...
with best regars and many thanks to mr. khadduri .

It is certain that all with both voice and sense should speak out against that which limits the first and offends the second. Good Luck.

It is clear that all with voice and sense should oppose that which limits the first and offends the second. Good Luck!
